Jenkinson has not started for Arsenal since they drew with Manchester United in November 2016
Unai Emery made a surprise inclusion when he named Carl Jenkinson in Arsenal’s starting XI for the visit of Bournemouth.
The defender was given the nod at right-back for the Gunners, his first start in 830 days since he began the 1-1 with Manchester United in November 2016.
Jenkinson started for Arsenal
You have to go back even further for his last start in a home match, which was 1,907 days ago, a 1-1 draw against Everton in December 2013.
Having failed to agree personal terms on a move to Crystal Palace in January 2017, Jenkinson remained at the Emirates, but did not feature again for the first-team.
He would then spend the 2017/18 season on loan with Birmingham City.
Social media went into meltdown when the lifelong Arsenal fan was listed on the team-sheet and you can see some of the best tweets below.
