In contrast, Burton’s squad cost around £6million – around a third of what City paid for second-choice goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

Tonight’s tie at the Etihad could be watched on by just over 55,000 if there is a capacity crowd. 52,708 were in attendance for the 7-0 FA Cup win over Rotherham on Sunday.
Burton’s Pirelli Stadium can hold 6,972, 2,034 of which is seated. Their last home game, the 1-1 league draw with Plymouth, drew in a crowd of 3,577.

Virtually all of City’s first-team stars have international caps under their belt and most are seasoned campaigners for their countries.
David Silva and Benjamin Mendy are World Cup winners while Raheem Sterling, Kyle Walker and John Stones are England regulars.
Burton have two internationals in their squad. Liam Boyce has 17 caps for Northern Ireland and Stephen Quinn has played 18 times for the Republic of Ireland.

Burton are yet to claim a piece of major silverware and getting to this season’s Carabao Cup semi-final is arguably their finest achievement to date.
