While filming promotional shots on the roof overlooking London, Eubank Jr started talking about a mark on DeGale’s face and suggested he’d been having a hard time in sparring while preparing for their bout.
DeGale responded by bringing up Eubank Jr’s own sparring partner – Denis Douglin – who was in attendance on top of the O2.
“He don’t have a f***ing clue what’s gonna happen,” the 32-year-old can be heard saying in the released video.
“I’ve seen your sparring, your sparring partner beats you up, that is mad.”
Douglin then interrupted before DeGale cut him off, laughing at both of them and declaring: “This guy’s rubbish anyway.“
When later asked to discuss the face off on top of the arena, Chris Eubank Jr said: “I’m right at the the top of my game – and I want the city to shake with the impact of my punches.
“The only view that’s going to stick in his mind is looking up at me from the canvas after I lay him out.”
James DeGale added: “This is a great view – but the best sight for me will be when the referee raises my arm at the end of the fight.
“Having the London skyline as the backdrop is entirely appropriate – I’m aiming for the stars, but first I aim to conquer Chris Eubank Jr at The O2.”
