Christian Pulisic joins Chelsea

As mentioned above, Chelsea have paid around £58million (€64m) to sign United States forward Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund.

He has long been a target of numerous Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United, but the Blues have won the race for the 20-year-old.

Pulisic returns to Dortmund on loan until the end of the season, before linking up with Chelsea ahead of 2019/20.

Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill to leave

Chelsea are willing to let two of their fine servants depart this month given they have fallen out of favour under Maurizio Sarri.

Midfielder Fabregas is being linked with a move to Monaco, who are managed by his former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry. Some reports suggest a deal could be done as soon as next week.

Cahill, the centre-back, looks certain to remain in the Premier League, however.

Reports of an Arsenal move for the former England international have been dismissed by Unai Emery, their manager, but Fulham are in for Cahill and a deal is believed to be close.

Wolves in for Tammy Abraham

England starlet Abraham netted his 15th and 16th goals of the season on New Year’s Day, continuing his fine loan spell at Aston Villa.

There have been suggestions Abraham wants to cut short his stay at Villa Park, however, and the Mail claim Wolves are ‘leading the chase’ for the 21-year-old.

Nuno, the Wolves manager, is hoping to sign a striker to compete with first choice centre-forward Raul Jimenez.

Chelsea to NOT sign new striker?

Maurizio Sarri has played down suggestions Chelsea will buy a new forward this month, despite both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud struggling in front of goal.

When asked about a striker arriving at Stamford Bridge in January, Sarri said: “No, because I have the option with Hazard in this position.

“We have Morata, and Hazard can play very well in this position as we have seen in the last two, three matches.

“So, I think that in the moment I don’t need another striker.”
